My Experience With Liberty So Far
I’ve been a member of Liberty Healthshare for several years now. When I first signed up, I thought it was too good to be true–I was skeptical. I went about 6 months as a member without ever having to go to a doctor, so I was half a year in and still had no idea of Liberty would work or not. And then my wife got pregnant.
Our experience with Liberty during our first pregnancy was exactly what I would have expected and prepared for. I was heavily involved with all the bills and making sure they were being paid. I was either paying them myself and getting reimbursed by Liberty, or my providers were billing Liberty directly. Overall, Liberty did exactly what they said they would do. We paid our AUA and Liberty paid the rest. We even ended up having a C-section in which Liberty handled no problem. I wrote an article about this experience on this site a couple of years back, but it wasn’t that in-depth.
As we continued to use Liberty Healthshare, we never really went to the doctor enough to ever go past our AUA each year. And over the past year or so, I’ve heard a lot of complaints from Liberty members and I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews posted on their page for Healthsharing Reviews. Needless to say, I’ve been concerned; however, I still haven’t had a bad experience personally….so I feel torn.
The New Blog Series
About 3 months, ago, we found out that we were pregnant again. Having had such a great experience with Liberty during the first pregnancy, I should feel completely relaxed about this pregnancy; however, after hearing complaints from recent members, I’ve been a bit hesitant.
So, I’ve decided to document our entire experience with Liberty during this pregnancy. From beginning to end and as in-depth as possible.
I’ll post a new blog every time something significant has happened. Doctor’s visits, submitting bills, reimbursements, etc. In my next blog post, I’ll talk about the pre-notification process in which we have just gone through. Hope you enjoy!
